Brett Mortimer joined this club in the 1990/1991 season starting in 3rd Grade and winning the bowling average in that season. By that performance, he won promotion to 2nd Grade.
He enjoyed a most successful playing career with the Club playing 1st grade from 1992 until his retirement at the end of the 2000/2001 season. He never played in a losing final for the Club.

That means nine wins in his 11 seasons and only two seasons not competing in at least a semi-final.
His 258 wickets in 1st Grade during that period place him at number three on the all-time wicket aggregate list (behind Bob Joyce and Brendan Creevey) while his 750 1st Grade runs have included some valuable innings - one at a final at Allan Border Field springs to mind.
He did play in a Queensland 3rd XI side.
He also worked hard for the club off the field and served on the Board of Management from 1994-1996. He was particularly active in the coaching area and assisted with the school holiday clinics.
Importantly, he became involved with the Club's junior teams and coached teams in 1995/1996, 1997/1998, 1999/2000 and 2000/2001.
Since 1998/1999, he acted as a development officer for the Club visiting local junior clubs and schools in the district and providing a vital link to this Club in that role.
His family's contribution to the canteen operation and working bees should also be acknowledged.
